Former member of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Asupa Forteta, has declared his intention to contest for the Burutu Constituency One seat in the Delta State House of Assembly in the 2027 general elections.
Hon Asupa made this known during a meeting with Chairmen and executives of the six wards of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Burutu Constituency One.
The gathering brought together APC ward chairmen and executives from the six wards in Burutu Constituency One, who met with the former lawmaker to deliberate on the political future of the constituency.
Addressing the party leaders, Hon Asupa Forteta said his love, passion and commitment to the development of his people motivated his decision to join the race for the constituency seat.
He reminded them of his achievements during his previous time in office, noting that his track records remain visible across the constituency.
He added that he is prepared to do more if given another opportunity to serve.
Hon Asupa assured party members and stakeholders of effective, quality and people-oriented representation, stressing that he remains committed to the growth and development of Burutu Constituency One.
While seeking their support, he promised not to disappoint the people if elected, pledging to continue to place the welfare of the people above personal interests.
Responding on behalf of the ward chairmen, Chairman of Burutu Ward 11 and Chairman of all APC Ward Chairmen in Burutu Local Government Area, Comrade Moses Agbobulagha, alongside other party leaders, commended Hon Asupa Forteta for what they described as his impressive track record.
They described him as a generous leader who has consistently demonstrated concern for the well-being of his people and assured him of their full support in his political ambition.
Special prayers were later offered for Hon Asupa Forteta, asking for divine guidance and success in his quest.
