The Agbarho revenue committee building permit of Ughelli North Council has refuted allegations that its members demand development levies and extort builders in the Ikweghwu community, describing the claims as false and misleading.

‎‎Chairman, Agbarho revenue committee building permit of Ughelli North Council, Honourable Oguma Collins made this known on Thursday during a press conference in Agbarho-Ughelli North Local Government Area.

‎‎Honorable Oguma said they were taken aback when they saw a publication on Delta Rainbow Television on Tuesday 11 February 2025 by President General of Ikweghwu community, Chief Bright Mowarin, indicting it’s members of collecting deve in the area.‎‎

Displaying receipts of payment received by developers in the kingdom and the agreement deed signed between the committee and the Ughelli North Secretariat, the Chairman of the building committee, Honourable Oguma Collins, noted that their records are open to scrutiny as they have never harassed or defrauded developers in Agbarho Kingdom.‎‎

He however noted that his committee, which is legally bound by the council, will never do anything to truncate the peace and development of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Olorogun Jaro- Egbo administration. ‎‎

Echoing the Chairman’s view, the secretary of the committee, Chief Igbenedior Peter, wondered why Chief Bright Mowarin, who had once been a member of various committees under the Ughelli North Council council, now deemed it to fight the Local Government Council administration since he no longer holds any position at the council currently.‎‎

They, however apealed to the State Governor Oborevwori, Ughelli North Local Government Chairman, and notably NURTW Delta state chairman, Chief Francis Arhiyo to call the President General of the IKweghwu community to order and stop indicting the committee with negative claims as such statements could lead to disruption in the area.‎‎

The Ughelli North Council, Agbarho revenue committee building permit however call on developers and builders to developed their areas without fear as the body is backed by the Local Government as they are bent on promoting the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s More Agenda in the area.‎‎

They, however, called on all to always foster the peace of the area.
