The Delta State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Mr. Peter Mrakpor, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, has charged local government party chairmen to remain loyal, dedicated, and focused on strengthening the party’s structure across the state.

He gave the charge during an enlarged meeting involving members of the PDP State Executive Committee, local government chairmen, and key stakeholders held in Jeremi, Ughelli South Local Government Area.

Addressing party leaders and stakeholders at the meeting, Mr. Peter Mrakpor reaffirmed the PDP’s strength and relevance in Delta State, describing the party as a formidable political force.

He expressed confidence that the PDP would continue to play a dominant role in the state’s political landscape, despite its current position as an opposition party.

Mr. Mrakpor urged local government chairmen to remain steadfast and proactive in their responsibilities, emphasizing the need for unity and discipline within party ranks.

He noted that the party is witnessing a gradual return of members who had previously defected, adding that more individuals are indicating interest in rejoining the PDP.

The Delta PDP Chairman also encouraged leaders at the grassroots to intensify efforts in attracting new members in order to further strengthen the party’s base.

He called on stakeholders to align with ongoing strategies targeted at securing victory in future elections, stressing the importance of collective commitment.

Mr. Mrakpor further highlighted the need for proper participation in the party’s ongoing e-registration exercise, describing it as a critical step toward repositioning the PDP.

Some local government chairmen who spoke at the meeting commended Mr. Mrakpor for convening the gathering, noting that it provided an avenue to deliberate, share ideas, and develop strategies to strengthen the PDP at the grassroots level.
