UGOLO CRISIS: COMMUNITY LEADERS CALL FOR INVESTIGATION

Leaders of Ugolo community in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, have appealed to the Commissioner of Police, the Department of State Security (DSS) and others to carryout a thorough investigation into an alleged attack on some residents of the community on 30th December 2024 that left many injured.

President General, Benjamin Agbude, Youth President of Ugolo community and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor On Youth Mobilization, Comrade Lucky Ighoyivwi, while speaking to DeltaTimes, alleged that some persons had launched the attack on the community executives in an attempt to take power from them which led to many sustaining several injuries.

They said those injured are currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital and called on law enforcement agents to fish out the perpetrators of the heinous crime.

Mr Agbude and Comrade Ighoyivwi also called on security agents to beef security in the community and around the leadership of the community, to prevent a reoccurrence of the ugly act.

They appealed to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to wade into the issue to prevent breach of peace in the community noting that peace is necessary for the successful implementation of the MORE Agenda.

Mr Agbude and Comrade Ighoyivwi pledged the unalloyed support of the community to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and his MORE Agenda.
