The State Governor Rt Honourable Sheriff Oborevwori says Obi Augustine Ezeaguna Nzemeke Okolie the third is the current traditional ruler of Egbudu Akah Kingdom recognized by the Delta State government.
Governor Oborevwori represented by his Deputy Sir Monday John Onyeme made this point while presenting a staff of office to the newly crowned Obi of Egbudu Akah Kingdom, at a fun filled ceremony held in Egbudu Akah community, Aniocha South local government area.
Commending the people of Egbudu Akah Kingdom for the minimal discord which trailed the successful accession of their new royal father to the anscestrial throne Governor Oborevwori charged them to co operate and be submissive to him at all times.
The governor noted that as people gifted in craftsmanship and agriculture,they would be able to benefit from government policies and programmes to boost the local economy.
To the new royal father the Governor warned that he must not resort to violence to resolve any issue confronting his throne just as he was required to promote the welfare and development of his subjects.Congratulating him on his successful coronation.
The State Governor stressed that dialogue and consultation would enable him carry his people along and make their lives better.
The Chairman Aniocha South local government Pastor Jude Chukwuwinke who expressed delight at the successful ceremony urged the king and the people of the kingdom to protect government facilities within the locality.
He however appealed to the state government to tar access roads linking the kingdom to neighbouring communities and Ogwashi-Uku, the council headquarters.
Similarly, the Obi of Egbudu Akah Kingdom in an adress read on his behalf appealed to the state government to renovate their school and provide the community with a well equipped health centers.
The well attended occasion included cultural dances.
