Chairman Odidi Federated Community in Warri South West Local Government Area, Mr Preye Okrikpa, has called on Sons and Daughters of Ijaw Nation at home and diaspora, to support the rewarding of the Pipeline Surveillance contract to Tantita Security Services.

In a statement, Mr Preye Okrikpa said the Niger Delta has long been the lifeblood of Nigeria’s economy, yet for too long the environment has suffered, communities have been neglected, and the people have not always received the recognition they deserve.

He informed that all that has since changed since the patriotic efforts of Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, through Tantita Security Services, in the surveillance and protection of Nigeria’s pipelines, which he said has brought renewed hope to the Niger Delta and has further increased oil production for the benefit of the nation.

Mr Preye Okrikpa emphasized that the pipeline surveillance contract is not merely a contract, but a mission to defend resources, secure environment, create jobs for youths, and restore peace in Niger Delta creeks.

The Odidi Community Chairman urged all sons and daughters of Ijaw Nation to rise above division, and show that they are capable custodians of the resources in the land.

He stressed that by supporting Tantita Security Services, they are not only protecting pipelines, but protecting livelihoods, promoting national economic growth, and proving the strength, discipline, and leadership of the ijaw people.

Mr Preye Okrikpa further called on the Federal Government not to allow any form of pressure against rewarding the pipeline surveillance contract to Tantita Security Service, adding that those behind such call are those who wants to bring back activities of bunkery.

He added that there has been lasting peace, end to bunkery activities, improved lives and communities, and an increase in oil production since Tantita Security Service took charge of the surveillance contract, and hugged the federal government not to succumb to unnecessary pressure.
