An ex-Niger Delta militant leader, General John Abugor, who also serves as the Tantita General in charge of security operations in Jesse/Idjerhe Kingdom, the home community of Oliver Fejiro, has stated that only Tompolo, through Tantita Security Services, possesses the capacity to effectively manage pipeline surveillance in the Niger Delta.‎‎

Speaking with a reporter in Jesse Community on Monday, 30 March, General Abugor emphasized that decentralizing pipeline surveillance responsibilities to individual communities could lead to conflicts, noting that such an arrangement may trigger power tussles among local groups.

‎‎“Only Tompolo can effectively handle the surveillance of pipelines in our communities” General John Abugor said.

“If the contract is decentralized and handed over to individual communities, it could spark crises because of power tussles” he stated . ‎‎

He further highlighted the significant contributions of the Tantia Security Service, noting that both Jesse Kingdom and its surrounding communities have benefited immensely, particularly through the engagement of youths in Tantita security operations. ‎‎

“ The Tantita Security Service has brought immense benefits to Jesse/ Idjerhe Kingdom and surrounding areas, engaging our youths and ensuring the growth of oil production from 700,000 bpd to 1.47 million bpd which have help boost our economy”‎‎.

According to him, the rise in oil production in Nigeria is attributed to the diligence and hard work of the Tantita Security Service, which continues to safeguard critical oil infrastructure in the region.

‎‎General Abugo’s remarks underline the importance of a centralized and experienced security approach like Tantita Security Service to managing pipelines and ensuring continued economic growth in Nigeria. ‎‎

He further called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to extend the pipeline surveillance contract for another eight years, noting that such a move would further strengthen security around oil facilities and significantly improve the nation’s oil production.
