The chairman of Delta State Internal Revenue Service, Hon Solomon Ighrakpata, has called on investors across the globe to come to the state to invest to take advantage of the investment-friendly potential and opportunities across the state.

Hon Ighrakpata made the call during a chat with newsmen in his office while speaking on the Service achievements since his assumption of office.

Hon Ighrakpata said his board assumed office in 2023 to meet a Revenue Collection of approximately Eighty-Five Billion Naira and worked hard and succeeded in raising it to One Hundred and Fifteen Billion Naira in 2023.

He explained that with the introduction of an Intelligent unit and improved revenue drive system, his board, whose target for 2024 was approximately One Hundred and Eleven Billion Naira, succeeded in surpassing the target by delivering a Revenue Collection of approximately One Hundred and Fifty-Eight Billion Naira in 2024.

The Internal Revenue Service chairman also attributed the success of 2024 to the trust the state governor, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, was able to instil into the minds of taxpayers, as they clearly see what their paid taxes are being used for across the state.

In 2025, the chairman of the Board of the State Internal Revenue Service said the board is fully committed to achieving more success by improving revenue drive and the intelligent unit, amongst other steps to be taken.

Hon Ighrakpata called on taxpayers to remain faithful and continue to abide by the law of tax payment.

He noted that if the tax reform bill is passed by the National Assembly, some business owners will then be free from tax payment, which may then lead to more payment by others.

Hon Ighrakpata appreciated the directors on the board and the staff for their support and hard work so far, urging them not to relent in the teamwork they have created.
