IKA NATION FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT 2025 KICKOFF NOV 22nd.

The maiden edition of the Ika Nation Football Tournament 2025 has been scheduled to kick-off on Saturday November 22nd 2025, at Owerre-Olubor Community Football Field.

The tournament which is being sponsored by The Udoka Nwaeweche Foundation, will see Boji Boji One (Ward 3) and Akumazi (Ward 7) playing the opening match, beginning at 2pm.

Addressing sports journalists, sponsor of the Ika Nation Football Tournament, Hon Udoka Kingsley Nwaeweche said the football tournament which is for communities/wards in Ika Nation, is being organized to promote and sustain unity amongst the people of Ika Nation, and also to foster love amongst them.

He stressed that the unity and love that the game of football brings cannot be overemphasized, sitting the Japan/Korea FIFA World Cup, which was use to bring both nations together in lasting peace.

Hon. Udoka also informed that the tournament is also a platform for raw talents to be discovered in the area, adding that there will be scouts during matches.

He emphasized that his love for his people, has spurred him to put together the tournament, informing that there are lots of other things being lined up by the Udoka Nwaeweche Foundation in a means to touching lives positively.

Hon. Udoka Nwaeweche said the winner of the football tournament will take home One Million Naira, while the second will go home with Five Hundred Thousand Naira and the third two hundred and fifty thousand respectively, adding that there are lots of other consolidation prizes that will be given out.

It will be recalled that the draws for the Ika Nation Football Tournament 2025 was held recently, with Twenty Eight communities/wards participating.
