PEOPLE OF OMOSUOMO COMMUNITY IN UGHELLI SOUTH CRY OUT, AS FLOOD RAVAGE COMMUNITY

People of Omosuomo Community in Ughelli South Local Government Area have called on the Federal and State Governments to come to their aid over the flood situation that has ravaged the community.

The people made the appeal through their President General, Chief Henry Abizor while speaking with newsmen.

Speaking with newsmen, the President General Omosuomo Community, Chief Henry Abizor, said the rise of the River Niger level has caused heavy flood in the community, thereby rendering the people homeless.

He informed that the level of the flood keeps rising day by day, adding that water in the community is now above kneel level.

The Omosuomo community president general stressed that the flood has taken away their farms, leaving them with hardship on how to feed, and has also deprived their children from going to school.

Chief Henry Abizor further stressed that the flood being experienced by Omosuomo community has been an annual occurrence saying that the suffering caused by the flood is unbearable.

The president general Omosuomo community, Chief Henry Abizor appealed to the federal and Delta State governments to come to the aid of the people of Omosuomo community, saying that the situation is getting worse by the day.

He also called on NEMA, the Chairman Ughelli South Local Government, NGOs, and individuals, to come to the aid of the people with any form of support to safe them from hunger.

The present level of the flood on Omosuomo community has left the People helpless.
