Chairman Burutu Local Government, Dr. Julius Takeme, has praised the Nigerian Armed Forces for their selfless contributions to the unity and survival of the nation.
Dr Takeme said this during his message to mark the 2025 Army Forces Day Celebration at his office in Burutu, Burutu local government area.
The Burutu council boss described the military as “superheroes” who fought tirelessly to ensure the nation’s strength and unity.
He specifically referenced the Nigerian Civil War, noting how countless brave soldiers and security forces fought relentlessly, day and night, to preserve Nigeria as one indivisible country.
Dr. Takeme further stated that the Armed Forces Remembrance Day serves as a solemn occasion to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in various conflicts, including both World Wars and the Nigerian Civil War.
He stressed that the gallant men and women of the armed forces gave their lives to protect the nation’s sovereignty, adding that their patriotism and bravery will forever remain in our hearts.
