IJAW ANNUAL PRAYER DAY CONCLUDED

The annual Ijaw Day of prayers, praise and thanksgiving organized by Izon-Ibe Christian Association was at the weekend concluded with prayers made for the Ijaw nation, the Ijaw monarchs, Delta State and the nation Nigeria.

The President of Izon-Ibe Christian Association, Pastor Eyiki Ekpolade told DeltaTimes that as a body they decided to thank God as a way of appreciation to God for the out gone year 2024 and for the year 2025.

The event was attended by the Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, a one-time President of the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN, Papa Ayo Oritsejafor, Traditional Rulers of different Ijaw Kingdoms, their Queens, top clergymen across the Ijaw nation amongst others.

The Ijaw day of prayers, praise and thanksgiving put together by the Izon-Ibe Christian Association featured prayers for the Ijaw nation, the traditional institution, Delta State and Nigeria led by different ministers of God as well as praises to  thank God for the success of last year and an anticipation for a better 2025.

The President of the Ijaw day of prayers, praise and thanksgiving, Pastor Eyiki Ekpolade said that the appreciation to God is an application for more.

He noted that the body was able to organize a successful crusade at Sandfield two community in Warri South West local government area, distribute eight classroom boards, dusters, markers and over four notebooks to pupils and students of the community.

For his part, the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor who commended the body for what they are doing, implored them to carry every denomination along in the scheme of things.

The Guest Preacher of the day, Bishop John Oruma who centered his message on “let there be light” took his bible reading from Genesis 1, as he said the light of God will shine brighter on Ijaw nation this year like never before.

He called on all to embrace Jesus’ Christ and abstain from sin, so as to pave way for more development in the Ijaw nation.

A one time President of the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN, Papa Ayo Oritsejafor and the Paramount Ruler of Ogulagha kingdom, Torububor the first in their separate speeches commended the leadership of the body and encourage them not to relent.

Leadership of the Ijaw day of prayers, praise and thanksgiving presented awards to Papa Ayo Oritsejafor and the Ebenanaowei of Ogulagha kingdom for their continuous supports to the body.
