A leader in Warri South Local Government Area and Chairman of Ifie-Kporo Community in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, Dr. Monday Agbeyi, has called on all sons and daughters of Itsekiri nation to come out en masse to welcome Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, during a grand reception scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2026.

In a statement, Dr. Agbeyi said the event, billed for 10am at Nana College Field, would serve as a historic gathering where the Itsekiri nation would speak with one voice to officially endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as their sole candidates for the 2027 general elections.

He noted that President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori have demonstrated commitment towards the development, peace and progress of Delta State and the Niger Delta region, stressing that the endorsement would further strengthen the relationship between the Itsekiri nation and leadership at both the federal and state levels.

Dr. Agbeyi described the gathering as a defining moment for the Itsekiri nation, adding that the event is aimed at showcasing the unity, strength and political direction of the Itsekiri people ahead of the 2027 elections.

He called on political leaders, youths, women groups, community stakeholders and all Itsekiri sons and daughters across Delta State and beyond to attend the event in large numbers and make the reception a huge success.
