Chairman Burutu Local Government, Hon Julius Takeme, has ordered the commencement of sales of nomination forms for the elections into the executive positions of Tuomo Community, in Burutu local government area.

He gave the order during a meeting with elders, stakeholders and people of Tuomo community, held at the community.

The meeting which also had in attendance the Divisional Officer, DSS, and other security personnel, provided a platform for discussions on the elections and the community issues.

The Burutu local government chairman also ordered the Transition Committee, led by Barr. Roland Ombe, to postpone the Amananawei election due to ongoing legal issues.

Hon Julius Takeme stressed that his administration will not tolerate any form or act by anyone to bridge the exciting peace in the community, and called on the people to support the transition Committee and the local government council in ensuring a peaceful election process.

The oldest man in the community, who holds the responsibility of crowning the Amananawei, dismissed the claims of one Chief Agidee, stressing that he had never crowned him or anyone as the Amananawei of Tuomo community.

Elders, Chiefs, and Youth Leaders who also spoke, appreciated Hon Julius Takeme for his timely intervention into the issue, saying that his move has brought peace to the community.

They assured of their total support and cooperation towards a peaceful election process in the community.
