WARRI NORTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMAN HON FESTUS ASHIMA DISTRIBUTES LEARNING MATERIALS TO SCHOOLS IN THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA.

Chairman Warri North Local Government, Honourable Festus Ashima, has re-affirmed His administration’s commitment towards delivering quality education to every child in Warri North local government area.

Honourable Ashima made this known during the flag off of the Back To School Campaign 2025, held at Koko, Warri North Local Government Area.

Flagging of the Back To School Campaign 2025, the Chairman Warri North Local Government, Honourable Festus Ashima said access to books and learning materials is an essential ingredient for developing reading skills, which are critical for literacy and development of a child.

He said the Back To Campaign 2025, is his administration’s way of providing and distributing quality reading and educative books to every school in Warri North Local Government Area, for the betterment of the pupils and students.

Honourable Ashima explained that with access to qualify educative Books, students can practice reading and improve their literacy rates, and expressed the readiness of his administration to bridges the Knowledge Gap in many communities where students lack access to books, thereby hindering their ability to acquire knowledge.

The Warri North Council boss, said the learning materials will support teacher’s effort to provide engaging and effective instruction, ultimately empowering the students and pupils to reach their full potential.

Honourable Ashima stressed that the Learning materials which are being distributed to the various schools, are not for decoration but to Support Inclusive Education, Enhances Learning Experience, Foster Love for Reading, Improve Literacy Rates as well as Support Curriculum Development.

NUT Chairman Warri North, Comrade Jones Efele, former NUT state chairman, Mr Jonathan Jemerigbe and the secretary Local Education Authority Mrs Thelma Ede, praised the Warri North local government Chairman, Honourable Festus Ashima for the initiative, describing him as very hardworking and committed chairman.

Some of the school teachers present who spoke, along with some pupils and students, appreciated Honourable Ashima for the books, saying that his move has helped in a large way to enable them give quality learning skills to the pupils and students.

Iterms distributed by the Warri North local government council chairman includes, books, school bags, school sandals, biro, teaching boards, waste bin, amongst others.

The items were distributed across 18 primary schools both in the urban and riverine communities in Warri North Local Government Area.
