Members of the Common Men Assembly (CMA), led by its Chairman, Dr. Jude Angodideke, have presented an Award of Excellence to Dr. Julius Takeme, Executive Chairman of Burutu Local Government.
The award is for his outstanding contributions to maintaining peace in Delta State and his continuous service to the people of Burutu.
The group lauded Dr. Takeme as a visionary leader and a builder dedicated to the development of the local government.
During the award ceremony, Hon. Nathan Tubotu, who spoke on behalf of the CMA, said that the Common Men Assembly was formed in response to the challenging circumstances members faced while growing up in Burutu.
As they prospered in their various fields, they felt a calling to give back to society, leading to the formation of the group.
Hon. Tubotu also emphasized that Dr. Takeme, known for his unwavering support of the common people, deserved to be recognized for his significant contributions to the welfare of Burutu people.
The CMA further conferred honorary membership on Dr. Julius Takeme, in recognition of his alignment with the group’s mission.
In his response, Chairman Burutu Local Government, Dr. Julius Takeme expressed his gratitude for the honour and recognition.
He acknowledged the uniqueness of the CMA, a group composed of intellectuals, medical professionals, engineers, and members of the political class who dedicate their time and efforts to community service, pledging to continue working together with the group for the betterment of society.
Spotted with the council chairman are several dignitaries, including the Vice Chairman, Chief (Mrs.) Georgina Evah; the Secretary of Burutu Local Government, Barr. R. Ombe; the Hon. Supervisors of the Council; the Principal Secretary, Mr. P. Yamene; the Chief of Staff, Prince S. Perekeme; the Deputy Chairman of the PDP, Burutu, Mr. Mark Okou; and many others.
