Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has urged Nigerians to demonstrate enduring commitment to the welfare of widows and families of the country’s fallen Heroes.
Governor Oborevwori stated this while addressing journalists shortly after participating in the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day ceremony held at the Cenotaph in Asaba, the state capital.
Governor Oborevwori led other top Government functionaries, military, and paramilitary personnel to lay wreaths in honour of the Nation’s fallen Heroes.
He stressed the significance of the event in commemorating the sacrifices of Nigeria’s Armed Forces.
According to the Governor, the Armed forces remembrance day is set aside annually to remember and celebrate the Nation’s fallen Heroes.
He noted that the fallen Heroes, served and fought gallantly for the country and her citizens.
Governor Oborevwori assured the families of the deceased military personnel that their sacrifices for the Nation is not in vain.
Highlight of the ceremony was the laying of wreaths by the Governor, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, military commanders, and the Commissioner of Police, among others.
