Days after the official closing of the Ewu-Okuama IDP camp, more donations are still pouring for people of Okuama community.
The latest donation to the people of Okuama community is the Eguonor Urhobo Association Austria, who donated some food items to the people.
Speaking before presenting bags of rice, bags of salts and cartoons of Indomie to the okuama community people, the chairman Eguonor Urhobo Association Austria, Mr Goddy Omagbemi, said they were touched with what happened to the people of Okuama community, which was why decided to come with some food items to support the people.
Speaking alongside the chairman, Mrs Grace Akpe, called on the people of Okuama community to stay strong, saying that they are not alone, promising that the association will be back to support them with building materials towards the second phase of rebuilding the community.
Responding, the Ewu-Okuama Internally Displaced Persons Management Committee, Mr Abraham Ogbodo, appreciated the Urhobo group from Austria for the donation, stressing that the committee is still receiving donations for the people even as they have moved to the second phase of rebuilding structures in the community for the people.
An Indigene of Okuama community present, also appreciated the group, and appealed to other groups and individuals to come to their aids towards the rebuilding of structures for the people.
The Ewu-Okuama Internally Displaced Persons, Management Committee, Mr Abraham Ogbodo had on Tuesday 31st December 2024 announce the shutdown of the Ewu-Okuama IDP camp, to enable the second phase of rebuilding the community kickoff.
