Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has acknowledged that his players are experiencing anxiety and fear on the pitch amid a challenging period for the club. Since Amorim’s appointment in November, United has suffered six losses in 11 matches, including four consecutive defeats without scoring, leaving them 14th in the Premier League, just seven points above the relegation zone.

Amorim emphasized the need for team leaders to support their anxious teammates, stating, “We need the leaders to step up to help the other guys.” He also took responsibility for improving performances, noting that players are “sometimes too anxious, too afraid to play football because this is a difficult moment.”

The team’s struggles come ahead of a daunting fixture against league leaders Liverpool at Anfield, where United has failed to win in their last eight Premier League visits, not scoring in the past five.

Amorim remains focused on addressing internal issues, stating, “I’m the most responsible person here to improve the performances.” He also acknowledged the pressure of managing a high-profile club like Manchester United, expressing commitment to overcoming the current challenges.

The manager’s candid admission highlights the psychological hurdles facing the squad as they aim to reverse their fortunes in the league. Support from team leaders and a focus on rebuilding confidence will be crucial as United prepares for upcoming matches against top-tier opponents.
