Delta State Commissioner for Works, Highways and Urban Roads, Comrade Reuben Izeze, Friday affirmed that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is delivering on his promise to ensure infrastructural development in Warri, Effurun and its environs.
Comrade Izeze speaking during an inspection tour of projects in Udu and Uvwie Local Government Areas, disclosed that several key projects were under construction across the state.
The state commissioner for works , Highway and Urban Roads Comrade Reuben Izeze listed the projects to include, Bazi Road off College Road in Aladja, Opete Road linking DSC Expressway to Opete Waterside, DSC Link Road connecting to Ughelli-Patani Road, and Sokoh Estate Road in Effurun.
Comrade Izeze noted that the projects reflects the Governor’s commitment to ensuring Development across the state.
He expressed satisfaction with the quality of work been executed and urged contractors to fast-track progress before heavy rains begin.
At the DSC Link Road, the Highway and Urban Roads Commissioner explained that the purpose is to ease congestion on the East-West Road. At Sokoh Estate Road, Hon Izeze described the project as long overdue, adding that for over 25 years, the road has been in disrepair and pointed out that the road is a critical link between Jakpa Road and Airport Road.
He explained that the redesign of the Sokoh Estate road was necessary due to its unique challenges, including flooding and underground water.Comrade Izeze revealed that the new design includes wider lanes and larger drains to address persistent flooding.
Contractors on site expressed appreciation for the cooperation from local Communities and pledged to deliver quality work within agreed timelines.
