Delta State Maritime Polytechnic, Burutu, has announced for the information of all 2011/2012 to 2023/2024 graduands, their parents/guardians and the general public, that the 1st Convocation Ceremony of the Maritime Polytechnic, for the Award of Diplomas and Prizes has been scheduled for March 4th to March 9th, 2025.
According to a statement signed by Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mr. Ufuoma C. Ighovojah, says the first day of the event, March 4th, 2025, is Alumni Day at the Braduce complex, Burutu at 10:00 am prompt.
It added that March 5th, 2025 is Rector’s Press Conference at the Rector’s office, Burutu beginning at 10:00 am, while March 6th, 2025 is Valedictory Lecture by Engr. Dr. Akpoyibo Famous Ebiowei, Entitled: Knowledge to Practice: My Perspective, at the Braduce complex, at 10:00 am.
The statement Informed that March 7th, 2025 is Convocation Lecture by the Vice Chancellor of Niger Delta University Prof. Allen Agih, Entitled: Transformational Leadership in Administration of Polytechnics at Braduce complex, 10:00 am, and March 8th, 2025 will be Convocation Ceremony and Award of Diplomas & Prizes also at the Braduce complex at 10:00 am.
The 1st Convocation Ceremony of the Delta State Polytechnic Burutu will round up March 9th, 2025 with Thanksgiving Service at Living Faith Church (Winner’s Chapel, Burutu at 8:00 am.
The statement further informed that Graduands are required to pay Thirty Thousand Naira for the academic gown, certificate, and convocation brochure, not later than Tuesday, 4th March, 2025 to Delta State Maritime Polytechnic, Burutu, Zenith bank, and Account Number: 1225050173.
It Informed also that graduands are to deposit the original copies of their Statement of Results (as applicable) and show evidence of payment before issuance of convocation gown, adding that collection of Academic gowns and other items starts on Friday, 21st February 2025 and should be returned in good condition not later than Tuesday, 10th March, 2025, failure to return the academic gown within the stipulated period attracts a penalty fee of #1,000 per day.
All Graduands are expected to immediately commence and complete the process of their clearance in their School/Faculty before the convocation ceremony in order to facilitate the collection of their ND Certificates on the day of the Convocation, adding that they are also requested to provide active email addresses for the receipt of copies of their students’ transcripts.
The statement called on Parents, guardians and invited guests to be seated, not later than 9:00 am on the Convocation day, while Graduands are to join the Convocation procession by 9:00am, properly robbed in the colours prescribed for their faculties and expected to be seated in the section provided for them in the Convocation arena.
