In a swift response to the outbreak of Cholera Disease in some part of Burutu local government area, the Chairman Burutu Local Government, Hon Julius Takeme, embarked on a sensitization tour and distribution of treatment drugs to various healthcare centers in the area.
The outbreak of Cholera in some part of Burutu local government area has so far killed two persons.
The chairman of Burutu local government, Hon Julius Takeme, accompanied by his Vice, who is also the Supervising Councilor for Health, Mrs Georgina Evah, and a team of doctors headed by Dr. Brown Ebikon Igbaipike, visited various healthcare centers to distribute treatment drugs for cholera disease, and also sensitized the people of the importance proper hygiene and preventive measures to combat the disease.
Among the hardest-hit communities in Burutu local government area is Ofougbene community, where two people have died from the outbreak.
Condoling with the families of the victims, the Burutu local government chairman Hon Julius Takeme, urged residents to seek immediate treatment at the healthcare centers, saying that the various centers are fully stocked with necessary medications and drugs to help control the outbreak.
He assured of his administration’s commitment towards the safety, wellbeing and good health of the people of the local government area, which made the council to swift into immediate action towards preventing any other casualty.
Responding, the chairman Ofougbene community, Comrade Andrew Yepade, praised Hon Julius Takeme for his prompt and swift response, saying that the community and people of Burutu local government area are very grateful.
The women who sang the praise of the local government chairman, also praised him for making available on time the drugs, adding that they the quick response by the chairman has shown to them that the people of Burutu is in a safe hand.
