DELTA STATE POLICE COMMAND PARADES SOME SUSPECTS FOR VARIOUS CRIMES

Delta State Police Command has paraded some suspects for allegedly committing various criminal activities in the State.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Bright Edafe, who paraded the suspects during a press briefing at Ekpan Police Station, said Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mr Olufemi Abaniwonda has vowed to stamp out crime in the State.

The first to be paraded by Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Bright Edafe were two alleged serial car snatchers and murder suspects.

According to Mr Edafe, the two suspects in company of a commercial sex worker on 15th of December 2024, hired a cab to a night club and left the club at late hours to a supposed hotel where they were lodged but at a lonely road around Aziza junction.

At the junction one of the suspects brought out rope and strangled the driver to death, threw him and the commercial sex worker out and made away with the car.

On the 26th of December, the same syndicate also attacked another cab driver in Benin, but the Cab driver escaped abandoning the vehicle with them but were apprehended on 2nd of January 2025, while trying to sell the car in Warri.

The two suspects 33years old Junior Emmanuel and 28years old Julius Samuel confessed to the crime.

One of their victims also narrated her ordeal in the hands of the suspects.

The Delta State Police Command also paraded Lucky Adoko and Bishop Bobi a member of Eiye Confraternity at Oghara town and recovered one locally made cut-to-size gun, as well as one Junior Umokoro at Sapele and recovered one pump action gun from him.

Also paraded was a 26years old barber, Volte Bale who allegedly defiled his neighbor’s 12 years old son at his salon at Ugborikoko town in Uvwie Local Government Area

A 25years old woman, Blessing Kojo Oghenefejiro was paraded for illegally giving out her six months old baby to a couple and deceived the father of the baby that the child was dead and buried.

According to Mr Edafe, said upon investigation, it was revealed that the suspect also deceived the couple and lied to them that she was gang raped by four men and that the child does not have a father.

She confessed to newsmen that, she allegedly collected the sum of two hundred thousand naira from the couple through a lawyer.

According to Delta State PPRO, on the 3rd of January 2025, two suspects Osio Emmanuel Nyerohwo and Sabiu Adamu that operated as tricycle riders at night and rob their passengers of their valuables, were arrested at Warri Sapele road in Uvwie LGA and two locally made guns, thirteen live cartridges, Nine mobile phones, and their operational tricycle were recovered from them.

Also on parade, was 40years old Faith Oghenejabor who operated a Facebook account with the name Smart Amanda, faked her kidnap while visiting a male date she met online.

According to Police report, Faith Oghenejabor called her male date and extorted money from him amounting to one million Nine hundred and fifty thousand naira.

The suspect a mother of one, who confessed to the crime alleged that the victim was her boyfriend for eight years.

SP Edafe also paraded a 32years old leader of Eiye Confraternity at Orhuwhorun town performing handing over ceremony on the 23rd of December 2024 and one Beretta pistol, two locally made double barrel gun, two locally made single barrel gun, one English revolver pistol, one locally made revolver pistol, one locally made single barrel pistol, one Beretta magazine, two toy gun, thirty-five rounds of ammunition were recovered from him.

The suspect in an interview said the guns belonged to his cult group and he was in custody of the arms because he was the number one man.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Edafe who restated the commitment of Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mr Olufemi Abaniwonda to rid the state of all criminal elements, urged all criminal elements in the state to turn a new leaf or risk arrest.
