The Office of the Executive Chairman, Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon Dagidi Andaye, have announced the indefinite postponement of the proposed honorary event by the Torugbene Community, initially scheduled for January 11, 2025.

According to a statement signed by the local government chairman, Hon Dagidi Andaye, and made available to DeltaTimes, the decision for the postponement is due to the unfortunate passing of the Council’s Secretary, Late Elder Hon. Famous Ofurobiri, and the subsequent declaration of a week-long mourning period in the Council.

The statement explained that the decision is in no way a sign of disregard for the Torugbene Community, which happens to be the paternal home of the Executive Chairman, but rather, it reflects the need to prioritize the emotional well-being of the Chairman and the Council during this challenging time.

Hon Dagidi Andaye in the statement, expressed his appreciation for the understanding and support of the Torugbene Community, and remain committed to rescheduling the event at a future date so it can be celebrated together under better circumstances.
