Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme has restated the commitment of the Oborevwori led administration to partner with private organizations genuinely interested in making meaningful contribution to the development of the State.
Sir Onyeme made the remarks in his office at Government House Asaba during a meeting with the management of Mecco and Marine Holdings Nig LTD.
The Deputy Governor said involvement of private organizations operating in host communities in the development of the area, reduces government developmental burden in the locality.
He commended the firm for taking up the task of ensuring that host communities to all the oil companies operating within the state get what is due to them.
Emphasizing the cumulative benefits of peace between oil firms and their host communities, the Deputy Governor noted that the State Government will provide the necessary support for the success of the assignment before the firm.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Mecco and Marine Holdings Nig LTD, Chief George Bucknor said the visit was informed by the need to support the host communities producing oil and gas and also to enhance the sustainable development of the state regarding their usurped rights and benefits.
Chief Bucknor said the mission of Mecco and Marine Holdings Nig LTD is to ensure that Host communities enjoy direct social and economic benefits of petroleum operations, ensuring effective implementation of the submission of the Need Assessment Plan within the timelines prescribed in the applicable laws of the country.
